On Tuesday, August 22nd, Logan Aluminum was among approximately businesses recognized by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System as an Education First Employer for our efforts and focus on education and workforce development.

The system-wide initiative aims to expand the commonwealth’s pipelines for skilled talent by allowing Kentuckians to earn a stable wage while pursuing in-demand credentials and increasing their earning potential. As an Education First Employer, businesses will receive assistance with filling positions and retaining quality and engaged workers, while advancing the skillset of their workforce.

“Logan Aluminum is proud to partner with KCTCS as a dedicated Education First Employer. We believe in the power of continuous improvement, and through this partnership, KCTCS offers invaluable opportunities for our team members to foster both individual and organizational success. Our longstanding partnership with KCTCS, exemplified through initiatives like the FAME program for industrial maintenance, showcases our commitment to developing our team members through blending education and on-the-job experience,” said Logan Aluminum President Mike Buckentin. “At Logan Aluminum, we’re dedicated to equipping our workforce with the tools they need for success and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This collaboration with KCTCS underscores our pledge to a future where improvement is constant, and learning is paramount.”

“Kentucky is welcoming historic economic investments that are creating thousands of great new jobs. At the same time, we’re also seeing rising wages and record low unemployment,” said Gov. Andy Beshear. “The Education First Employers initiative will make sure this rising prosperity reaches every Kentuckian where they live. It will also help us keep our promise to provide the best workforce for the increasing number of employers choosing our state to do business.”

Logan Aluminum is committed to attainable education and investment in our workforce through our partnership with KCTCS.
